CONDUCT OF HM GOVERNMENT TOWARDS THE HONOURABLE MEMBER FOR FOYLE

Tabled by Mr Jim Marshall (Labour) 39 signatures

The motion

That this House notes the comments of the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland made today that 'the honourable Member for Foyle came to see the Prime Minsiter on at least one occasion since April this year'; notes that the honourable Member for Foyle was engaged in discussions with the President of Provisional Sinn Fein and that there was no mystery about that; notes that the Government had no report of the outcome of these discussions; and notes that the Government was not interested enough to ask the honourable Member for Foyle the outcome of discussions which it was well aware were aimed at the permanent cessation of violence in Northern Ireland.
