HOSPITAL CAR PARKING FOR PATIENTS WITH BRAIN INJURY (No.3)

That this House notes that brain injury patients often require long hospital stays; further notes that such patients and their families are often subject to steep car parking charges at NHS hospitals in England; is disappointed to find that the wife of a brain tumour patient was recently not made aware of concession schemes for long-term patients; understands that she consequently paid over £10 a day for parking for the first 12 days of her husband's stay; is concerned by the inadequate information provided by hospitals about concessionary schemes where they do exist; recognises that parking charges are unfair to long-term patients; and urges the Government to find ways to abolish parking charges for long-stay patients at NHS hospitals in England.
