CAPITAL FUNDING FOR A NEW HOSPITAL IN HARLOW

Tabled by Robert Halfon (Conservative) 5 signatures

The motion

That this House notes the need for a new hospital in Harlow; further notes that Harlow's existing hospital, the Princess Alexandra Hospital, was completed in 1966; notes that much of the existing structure is original and therefore over 50 years old; is aware that the working lives of the incredible doctors, nurses and auxiliary staff is made so much harder by the deteriorating facilities; recognises the difficulties that this represents for the hospital in recruiting and retaining staff; further recognises the extra pressure put on the deteriorating hospital infrastructure due to changes to other local healthcare facilities; and therefore urges the Government to make capital funding available for a new health campus in Harlow.
