CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF JAMES WATT

That the House welcomes the activities taking place in Inverclyde to commemorate the life of James Watt, Scottish inventor, mechanical engineer, and chemist, who was born on 19 January 1736 and died 200 years ago on 25 August 1819; notes that Inverclyde council starts its celebration of the life of James Watt this week with the launch of a virtual walking route on the innovative world walking app and the broadcast of two short pieces of film at Cowan’s Corner, Greenock about James Watt; further notes there will be James Watt-related activity throughout the year, including the reopening of the McLean Museum and Watt Library as The Watt Institute; congratulates everyone involved in marking the bicentennial of James Watt; and wishes everyone involved every success with all their activities.
