SCOTTISH CITIZENS ADVICE 80TH BIRTHDAY

That this House congratulates the Scottish Citizens Advice network on reaching its 80th birthday; understands that the Scottish Citizens Advice network, comprising Citizens Advice Scotland (CAS), its 59 member Citizen Advice Bureaux (CAB) and the Extra Help Unit, provides free, independent, confidential, impartial, high quality advice to clients across 280 locations; notes that in 2017-18 its network of 900 staff and 2,300 volunteers helped over 295,000 adults in Scotland, with their support helping clients gain over £138 million in refunds, compensation and by resolving benefits issues; welcomes the two new services recently introduced by Citizens Advice Scotland - Help to Claim for Universal Credit and EU Citizens' Support; and pays credit to the #80YearsOflmpact that the Scottish Citizens Advice network has had over the past eight decades.
