TRAIN STATION CAR PARK CHARGES

Tabled by Robert Halfon (Conservative) 9 signatures

The motion

That this House acknowledges the extortionate fee that commuters are charged at some train stations across the country; recognises the impact that this charge has on the cost of living; acknowledges that many car parking operators do not provide value for money for the price that they are charging; notes that commuters often park their cars along nearby residential roads before getting a taxi to complete their journey to the train station; further notes the pressure that this puts on local residents; and therefore urges the Government to introduce a cap of £3 on the amount that a car parking operator can charge for one day of parking to help lower the cost of living for hard-working families.
