The motion
That this House welcomes the United Nations motion overwhelmingly condemning the occupation of the Chagos Islands by the United Kingdom; regrets the use of the Islands for military purposes for the UK and the USA, much to the concern of the Chagossian people; further regrets the use of the Islands by the USA for the purposes of rendition; notes that the bureaucracy of the UK Government has negatively affected the dispersion of necessary aid to Chagossian exiles; and urges the UK Government to honour the UN motion and withdraw from the Chagos Islands before the six-month UN deadline.
