CALUM'S CABIN, ISLE OF BUTE

That this House congratulates everyone involved with Calum’s Cabin on Bute on being awarded the 2019 Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service; commends the wonderful work being done by Duncan, Caroline and Jenna Spiers, founders of the charity Calum’s Cabin, which provides family holiday homes on the Isle of Bute as well as accommodation in Glasgow for families of children diagnosed with cancer or living with a cancer-related illness; recognises the importance of Calum’s Cabin in providing a space where the whole family can spend time together and make special, irreplaceable memories as well as being a refuge for families to simply recharge their batteries in preparation for what may lie ahead; praises the charity for their remarkable fundraising efforts which have allowed them to increase the accommodation provided to families to three very special places, Calum’s Cabin, Calum’s Cottage and Calum’s Cabin Glasgow Flat; commends them on all the work they do in helping to improve the quality of life for those children living with cancer and their families; and sends all involved in Calum’s Cabin every good wish for the future.
