The motion
That this House expresses concern at the decision of HM Treasury to review its 2018 Budget commitment to increase the Welsh Government’s borrowing cap by up to £300 million to support transport infrastructure; notes the Welsh Government’s decision of 4 June 2019 to cancel the proposed section of motorway south of Newport; notes that transport is a matter devolved to the Welsh Government and that accordingly the UK Government should not interfere in devolved areas; regrets the poor and fragmented condition of Welsh public and active travel infrastructure; and calls on the Government to maintain the Welsh Government’s borrowing cap by up to £300 million for infrastructure regardless of which infrastructure projects the Welsh Government decides to fund.
