MEN ACWY VACCINATION PROGRAMME

That this House notes the vaccination programme Men ACWY campaign run by Meningitis Now to promote the free vaccination available on catch up to those up to the age of 25; further notes that there are over 1 million young people who are eligible for the free vaccination that have not taken the offer up with only a 40 per cent uptake; highlights the fact that there are 22 bacterial and viral meningitis cases every day in the UK; and encourages parents to have the conversation encouraging their child to get the vaccination against this indiscriminate disease which can take Iives or leave physical and mental impediments.
