OUTGOING HIGH COMMISSIONER OF THE REPUBLIC OF CYPRUS

That this House commends the work of the outgoing High Commissioner of the Republic of Cyprus to the UK, His Excellency Mr Euripides L Evriviades, who has played a significant part in enhancing relations between the two countries through bilateral and regional co-operation, including fostering a closer relationship between the two Parliaments; recognises Mr Evriviades's deep historical understanding of the Cypriot-British relationship; further recognises his active engagement with the Cypriot diaspora in the UK; notes the High Commissioner’s extensive contribution to advancing the Commonwealth by, inter alia, serving as Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Commonwealth Secretariat; further notes Mr Evriviades's impressive diplomatic record; and wishes Mr Evriviades well in his future roles.
