The motion
That this House condemns the state-sanctioned human rights abuses in Venezuela that target opponents of illegitimate President Nicholas Maduro; further condemns the Cuban Government for its complicity in the widespread psychological, physical and sexual abuse against Venezuelan political prisoners; opposes the Cuban coup against Venezuelans; calls on the 22,000 Cuban military and security forces opposing the will of the people of Venezuela to return home; deplores both the Cuban and Venezuelan Solidarity Campaigns in the UK for their defence of those two dictatorial regimes, which persecute thousands of political opponents every year; and asks the Foreign Secretary to raise the matter with his Cuban counterpart at the earliest opportunity.
