INDIA INDEPENDENCE DAY 2019

That this House congratulates the Republic of India on celebrating the 72nd anniversary of its independence on 15 August 2019; recognises the success that India has made of its independence since 1947; notes the huge contribution made by the Indian diaspora to the wealth, prosperity and development of Wales, England, Northern Ireland and Scotland; acknowledges the deep ties between the UK and India; and congratulates Indians throughout the world as they celebrate Independence Day 2019.
