BUS PASSES FOR ALL WASPI WOMEN

Tabled by Mr Jim Cunningham (Labour) 15 signatures

The motion

That this House is concerned that some of the women in England who were affected by the 2011 changes to state pension age are not entitled to a free bus pass; notes that a free bus pass would be a small concession, bearing in mind that some women born in the 1950s have lost tens of thousands of pounds in pension payments; further notes the merits of free bus passes in sustaining high streets, public transport and the environment; and calls on the Government to provide free bus passes for all women born in the 1950s women who have reached the age at which they would have been entitled to a bus pass before the Pensions Act 2011.
