The motion
That this House remembers the life of Mahatma Gandhi who was born on 2 October 1869; recognises the special occasion of his 150th birth anniversary marked by events across the world; and congratulates the Gita Foundation, the National Association of Patidar Samaj, supporting organisations from across the UK and organisers Pravin Amin and Sharad Parikh on the Gandhi Peace Walk from Tavistock Square to Parliament Square on 2 October 2019 supported by the High Commission of India to commemorate Mahatma Gandhi's 150th birth anniversary and dedicated to his philosophy of non-violence.
