UNIVERSITY OF STRATHCLYDE NAMED SCOTTISH UNIVERSITY OF THE YEAR

That this House congratulates the University of Strathclyde on being named Scottish University of the Year by the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2020; notes that the university also ranks fifth in the UK overall; understands that Strathclyde has seen applications rise by 60 per cent in recent years from students who are among the best-qualified to enter any UK university; further notes that only five universities top a larger number of the Good University Guide's specialist subject tables; appreciates that Strathclyde has the highest overall student satisfaction rate of any university in Glasgow; recognises that this achievement is testament to the hard work of staff and students in creating an inclusive, supporting environment which values academic excellence; and wishes the University every success for the future.
