Glasgow recognised as top European destination for new graduates

That this House welcomes that Glasgow has been recognised as the top graduate destination in Europe by resume.io; notes that factors such as high levels of satisfaction with city’s sports and fitness facilities and cultural venues contributed to Glasgow’s high score; appreciates that 67 per cent of Glasgow’s graduates, amongst the highest in the UK, stay on to work in the city; recognises that Glasgow’s low unemployment and housing costs and average monthly wages equivalent to €1,950 make the city an attractive place to live; appreciates the contribution made to Glasgow by the University of Strathclyde, University of Glasgow, Glasgow Caledonian University, the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Glasgow School of Art and the Open University; and hopes that many more new graduates will choose Glasgow in the years ahead.
