The motion
That this House calls on the Prime Minister, Home Secretary, Justice Secretary, Attorney General and the Independent Office of Police Conduct to agree on the appointment of an independent reviewer, equivalent to Richard Henriques, to document the errors that led to the unjustified prosecution of former Police Sergeant Gurpal Virdi, starting with an understanding of the documented known facts, that the Officer-in-charge of the arrest of the complainant in Autumn 1986 made no statement, that the known officer present at the arrest in 1987 was not interviewed and that the alleged assault weapon was not available for a decade.
