Hartlepool nuclear power station

That this House recognises the substantial contribution of Hartlepool nuclear power station to our national grid; considers that this important institution is set to be decommissioned by 2024; recognises that with growing energy needs, this power station must be replaced to meet its current 5 per cent contribution; acknowledges the importance of Hartlepool nuclear power station as a major employer in Teesside; and calls on the Secretary of State for the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy to announce its intentions for the future of the site.
