Lanarkshire Cancer Care Trust: the volunteer driver service

That this House congratulates the volunteer driver service at the Lanarkshire Cancer Care Trust on the occasion of its 21st birthday; recognises the achievements of the volunteer driver service; commends the 104 volunteer drivers who give up their time to drive cancer patients to appointments; notes the important role of the volunteer driver service in reducing the stress and anxiety faced by patients; praises the dedication of the volunteers, who drove patients to 14,430 appointments last year and an average of 80 per day; acknowledges the important role of local charities in providing support to their communities; and wishes the volunteer drivers and patients all the best for the future.
