THE ARAB TRADE BOYCOTT OF ISRAEL

The motion

That this House applauds the statement made by world leaders at the conclusion of the G7 summit that 'We reiterate, the Arab boycott should be ended'; notes that now a breakthrough has been achieved in the GATT trade negotiations enforcing the principle of world free trade the iniquitous and illegal Arab boycott should end; calls upon the Government to introduce legislation to make compliance with the Arab trade boycott by United Kingdom companies illegal; and further calls on the Government to increase its efforts in urging the Arab states, in articular the Gulf states, to stand by their commitments to abandon the boycott.
