LEAP

That this House recognises the exceptional staff and volunteers at LEAP who deliver vital services throughout the community helping to enhance the lives of the most vulnerable in the constituency of East Kilbride, Strathaven and Lesmahagow and throughout South Lanarkshire; commends the bespoke personal shopper and pharmacy service delivered by LEAP volunteers; praises the volunteer befrienders who continue to play a vital role in combatting social isolation by maintaining existing links with vulnerable people by checking whether they need anything and monitoring their wellbeing; acknowledges the pupils of Newfield Primary School in Stonehouse for keeping their intergenerational project going by supplying treat boxes and writing letters which are delivered from LEAP’s Strathaven office; and thanks the volunteer handymen and women who carry out essential emergency repairs for clients in their own homes whenever possible.
