Rolls-Royce Inchinnan redundancies

The motion

That this House condemns the plans by Rolls-Royce to axe 3,000 jobs across its UK sites, including 700 in Inchinnan; commends the workforce at Inchinnan for their world-leading expertise and craft in aerospace engineering as demonstrated over years of operation at Inchinnan; notes that Rolls-Royce has used the taxpayer-funded Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme to furlough workers while planning their redundancy; supports the actions of trades unions in their constructive and forward-thinking approach they have shown over recent months; calls on Rolls-Royce to meet with trades unions, the Scottish Government, and other relevant agencies and begin real and meaningful engagement immediately; and urges the UK Government to take immediate action to protect jobs and high-skilled manufacturing across the country.
