That this House recognises World Blood Donor Day 2020; notes that men who have had sexual contact with other men in the last three months are excluded from donating blood; calls on the Government to work with the Advisory Committee on the Safety of Blood, Tissues and Organs on reviewing the current blood donation policy; affirms the importance of donating blood, with just one visit capable of saving up to three lives; and asserts that the ability to donate blood, which could be used to help find a cure for covid-19, should be assessed on a case by case basis and reviewed based on the most thorough and up to date medical evidence.
