Barrhead Tesco Community Support

That this House commends Tesco Barrhead for its foresight and focus in considering how best to support local communities and minimise food waste; applauds Tesco Barrhead's community focus which has led to the donation of 36,000 meals to local good causes; acknowledges the support that has been provided to vulnerable people across East Renfrewshire over the past five years since that scheme has been running; understands that through Tesco’s partnership with FareShare, Tesco stores across the UK have been donating millions of meals directly to charities and community groups through its food donation scheme; appreciates that those donations of food, which are fresh, in date and of good quality, are made to local good causes through the FareShare Go service which partners Scottish stores with charities and community groups; congratulates all the Tesco employees involved in that scheme; and thanks all the volunteers and staff involved in the local community groups receiving and distributing those meals.
