50th anniversary of Burnbank Swifts' most successful season

The motion
That this House remembers that 5 June 2020 is the 50th anniversary of Burnbank Swifts' victory over Dundee Fairfield, marking the end of the most successful season in the club's history; understands that Burnbank Swifts won six cups during the 1969-70 season, including the Scottish Juvenile Cup, and played 50 games back-to-back undefeated; further understands that the Scottish Juvenile Cup Final between Burnbank Swifts and Dundee Fairfield was attended by Jock Stein, who was born in Burnbank and was keen to watch the team make history; notes that the team's achievement was later recognised in the Scottish Football Museum; believes that the spirit and determination of Burnbank Swifts' record-breaking season is an inspiring example of triumph over adversity and disadvantage; and congratulates the ex-players from the 1969-70 Burnbank Swifts team and recognises their place in the history books of Scottish football.
