Unauthorised encampments in Harlow

That this House recognises the problems that unauthorised encampments can cause in communities such as a rise in anti-social behaviour and illegal activities such as fly-tipping; further recognises the distinct challenge Harlow will face due to the Council’s decision to withdraw an application to extend the existing injunction against unauthorised encampments; notes that Harlow has seen over 100 unauthorised encampment sites set up over recent years; and calls on the Government to increase police powers for dealing with unauthorised encampments.
