The motion
That this House recognises the very high esteem in which the community of Sighthill holds their neighbour and friend Emma Dey; understands Emma was diagnosed with lung cancer in December 2019 and that it has since spread to her breast and liver; commends her positive attitude and determination to fight that cancer; understands that the community of Sighthill recently held a family day named Emma Day in honour of Emma and her three children Morgan, Joe-Alan and Holly; thanks Kirsteen Marshall of New Rhythms for Glasgow for organising the physically distanced event and for enlisting the services of artist Consuelo Servan who created chalk art with messages from friends on the streets of Sighthill including a masterpiece of Emma’s favourite singer and cancer survivor Kylie Minogue; and wishes Emma Dey a healthy and happy future at the heart of the community that loves her.
