Breast Buddies scheme in Angus

That this House celebrates World Breastfeeding Week 2020 and in so doing applauds the work done by the volunteer run service, Breast Buddies, managed by Voluntary Action Angus, and the support they provide in Angus and the surrounding area; values the evidence based information they compile for hundreds of local women and families together with the direct support they give to women who are breastfeeding; notes that without this support many would not be able to continue their breastfeeding journeys; highlights the community Breast Buddies have created which provides a platform for women to support each other together with other branches of Breast Buddies in Tayside and their delivery of antenatal classes online to women; and commends their work to fill the gap created by the suspension of NHS classes during lock down, the support they have given throughout the covid crisis and the virtual meet-up sessions they have organised for local women to connect.
