Gary McVicar - student mentor

The motion

That this House notes the achievements of Gary McVicar as a student mentor; praises Mr McVicar for offering significant support to a new first-year student suffering from anxiety and helping them to secure their qualification; notes that Mr McVicar has Asperger’s Syndrome which meant he had to deal with anxiety himself but his focus and determination to succeed and help his mentee achieve their qualification led to positive results; commends Mr McVicar for being a role model and his excellent self-motivation, commitment and leadership qualities; congratulates Mr McVicar on completing his own studies, holding down a part-time job, engaging in two voluntary work placements, assisting the Student’s Association President and Vice President with a range of tasks, assisting in fundraising events and still managing to help his mentee to gain their qualification; hopes Mr McVicar can continue his level of commitment and determination to achieve his goals; and wishes Gary McVicar the very best for the future.
