The motion
That this House notes the joint statement by the respective Finance Ministers of the Scottish, Welsh and Northern Ireland Governments on the 6 of October 2020 calling for greater flexibility, fairness and clarity by the UK Government to enable their respective administrations weather the economic, social and healthcare challenges posed by the covid-19 pandemic; further notes that those statements were issued by Ministers representing three different political parties indicating the serious concerns of the three devolved Governments; notes that in the case of Wales, two thirds of the population are living under local covid-19 lockdown conditions; and calls on the UK Government to meaningfully engage with the devolved Governments to urgently provide greater flexibility, a purposeful role in spending review decisions and certainty over replacement of lost EU funding.
