Closure of TSB branch in Angus

That this House regrets the announcement by TSB that it intends to close its Forfar Branch and in so doing completely removes the TSB name from the county of Angus after previously closing Kirriemuir, Brechin, Montrose, Arbroath & Carnoustie TSB branches; notes that this once great banking institution has served communities across Scotland for generations, upholds the need to appropriately support approximately 20 per cent of customers who still require access to traditional physical banking services; highlights that the retention of the Forfar TSB branch was set out by TSB as a rationale and justification for closing the previous surrounding branches in Angus; and calls on the Bank to urgently reconsider this proposal and instead maintain its branch in Forfar in the interests of fairness and financial equity to its customers in Angus.
