The motion

That this House notes that according to Brake, the road safety charity, 188 people are killed and more than 1,250 people are seriously injured in drink-drive related crashes in England and Wales every year on average; further notes that December and August are the worst months for drink-drive crashes and that between 2012 and 2019 there were 46,860 drink-driving related crashes, causing 1860 deaths; notes that England and Wales have the highest drink-drive limits in Europe; and calls on the Government to support Brake’s Lower the Limit campaign and introduce a zero-tolerance drink-drive limit to reduce deaths and injuries, and to provide clarity in the law.
