The motion
That this House congratulates the King’s Own Royal (Lancaster) Regiment Museum Trustees and Lancaster City Museums on their £60,000 awarded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund; wishes them success in using the funding to produce The Hinge of Fate: Living with Uncertainty in 1942, which will tell the story of both the soldiers of the regiment and families on the ‘Home Front’ in Lancaster during the darkest days of the Second World War; further thanks chair of the King’s Own Royal (Lancaster) Regiment Museum Trust, Robin Ashcroft, for his work on this successful bid; recognises the contributions from the Duke’s Theatre, Morecambe Women’s Institute, Lancaster Music Festival, Sandylands Primary School, and Global Link for their collaboration in the wider programme of events planned; and anticipates The Hinge of Fate: Living with Uncertainty in 1942, which will run from September 2022 to February 2023 in the Special Exhibition Gallery of The City Museum, Market Square, Lancaster.
