SNP election result in North Ayrshire Council

That this House congratulates the SNP North Ayrshire Council group on their victory in being elected the largest party on Thursday 6 May’s local elections, securing more seats and more first preference votes than any other party, thereby securing a mandate to form North Ayrshire Council’s new administration; recognises that the SNP’s success in North Ayrshire Council reflects the people of North Ayrshire’s desire for a new administration; wishes newly elected SNP Council leader Marie Burns and Depute Leader Shaun Macaulay all the best for their leadership of this administration; welcomes the election of well-respected Councillor Anthea Dickson to the role of Provost of North Ayrshire; sincerely thanks voters in North Ayrshire for putting their faith in the SNP to take on the mantle of running North Ayrshire Council on their behalf; and wishes the new SNP administration every success as it works to deliver on the people of North Ayrshire’s priorities.
