Death of Northern Ireland football boss Billy Bingham

The motion
That this House notes with regret the death of Northern Irish football boss Billy Bingham, who sadly passed away aged 90 of dementia; further notes his dedicated efforts in guiding Northern Ireland to the World Cup finals, first in 1982 when they famously beat hosts Spain, and again in 1986; notes his personal football career, spending many years playing himself for Everton and Luton; further notes his sad diagnosis with dementia in 2006 but his strong fight throughout and lasting determination; sympathises with the family in their loss and holds them in our thoughts through this difficult time highlighting that his legacy will live on in the world of football and the sporting community; and sends condolences to all those who cherished him.
