Katie Shanahan and 2022 Commonwealth Games

That this House congratulates local East Dunbartonshire athlete Katie Shanahan on her tremendous success at the 2022 Commonwealth Games representing Team Scotland; understands Katie won two bronze medals in the Women’s 200m Backstroke and Women’s 400m Individual Medley to help add to Team Scotland’s terrific medal haul; recognises how important it is to have young women like Katie represent Scottish sport at the highest level as an example to other athletes; notes the tremendous amount of work done to make this achievement possible; congratulates everyone involved in Katie’s Team as well as the rest of Team Scotland on being such tremendous role models for young athletes across Scotland; and looks forward to seeing what more she will accomplish for Scottish sport in the future.
