Wales women's national football team

That this House congratulates the Welsh national Women’s football team on securing a play off spot for the forthcoming World Cup; recognises that the team has caught the imagination of the Welsh public with a record 12,000 crowd attending the last group game against Slovenia; welcomes the broadcast partnership between the Football Association of Wales and BBC Wales which will see games on free to air television until 2027; welcomes the growth of women’s sport in Wales and the important role the national team will play in inspiring participation and interest; and wishes the team well in their play-off games.
