75th Anniversary of the Diocese of Paisley

The motion
That this House congratulates the Diocese of Paisley on the 75th anniversary of its erection from the Archdiocese of Glasgow in 1947; welcomes the service of the five Bishops who have served the people of the county of Renfrewshire in that time, including the current incumbent Bishop John Keenan; notes the role the Church has played and continues to play in communities across Renfrewshire; and warmly welcomes its anniversary Mass on 15th September on the feast of St Mirin, patron saint of Paisley and founder of Paisley Abbey.
