Tabled by James Pawsey (Conservative)
55 signatures
The motion
That this House welcomes the recent vote by the European Parliament to amend the proposed Cosmetics Directive with regard to animal testing; notes that these amendments ensure that there is a real possibility of the 1998 target date for ending the use of animals to test cosmetics being met and that any such ban would be comprehensive; urges the Council of Ministers to accept these amendments to its common position; and calls on the United Kingdom Government to support the Parliament's amendments within the Council.
