That this House commends Springfield Gardens Residents Association on their projects to benefit residents of Springfield Gardens at Uddingston Cross; praises the residents association’s aim to develop a programme of events that includes social and learning sessions, and a range of day trips for elderly residents; congratulates Springfield Gardens Residents Association on their successful application for a grant of £5,310 from the National Lottery Community Fund to support the programme; understands the programme is aimed at reducing isolation, increasing links with the local community, and building resilience and confidence; recognises the programme will benefit 55 residents at the Beild home in Uddingston and nearby senior residents of the wider local community through increased contact and accessibility; further congratulates the innovative efforts of the Residents Association to tackling issues of loneliness among the elderly in our community; and wishes Springfield Gardens Residents Association well in their future endeavours.
