That this House congratulates the Cross Stobs Inn, located on Grahamston Road Barrhead, on being awarded the title of Best Independent Bar in the central belt at the Scottish Hospitality and Food Awards ceremony on Thursday 18 May 2023; notes that the Cross Stobs Inn was also ranked as the runner-up for the Best Sports Bar award; welcomes this recognition of the hard work which goes into delivering a great service; highlights that the pub is located in a seventeenth-century coach house; recognises the hard work of Jonathan Wengel, who has owned the pub for seven years, and the commitment of all the staff at the Cross Stobs Inn to delivering an exemplary service and a good atmosphere; further highlights the important role that pubs play within local communities across East Renfrewshire economically and socially; and wishes all the staff and customers of the Cross Stobs Inn the very best for the future.
