Wilma Mather Senior Champion award

That this House congratulates Wilma Mather for being awarded the Glasgow Times Community Champions Senior Champion Award for fostering community spirit in Summerston; acknowledges Wilma’s commitment to community work since moving to Summerston in 1975; notes Wilma’s tireless work volunteering with schools, youth clubs and other community groups; further notes that Wilma is the chair of Summerston Community and Environmental Group, which developed a local community action plan to enhance the local area; considers that Wilma’s constructive approach to community activism has resulted in numerous community-organised events and activities taking place in the Summerston area; and wishes Wilma well in her continued endeavours to enhance the community.
