Glasgow Girls Club receives Arts Champion award

That this House congratulates Glasgow Girls Club for being awarded the Glasgow Times Community Champions Arts Champion of the Year award; notes that the Glasgow Girls Club offers artistic programmes to young women and girls; recognises that these programmes have supported young women and girls out of vulnerable situations by building their confidence, enabling them to access employment and other opportunities; further notes that the Glasgow Girls Club’s provides space for young women and girls to design projects and campaigns; welcomes their recent project with Glasgow City Centre and the Carter Centre, which highlighted the continued harms caused by sexism across the city’s billboards; and commends the Glasgow Girls Club for 10 years of creating spaces where young women and girls feel safe and nurtured.
