125th anniversary of The Forest Club, Starbeck

That this House congratulates The Forest Club in Starbeck on the occasion of its 125th anniversary; recognises the important role the club has played since its founding in 1901 as a valued social and community hub for generations of residents in Starbeck and the wider Harrogate area; commends the volunteers, committee members and staff, past and present, who have sustained the club and its traditions over more than a century; notes the week of celebrations being organised for members, including themed evenings, a community quiz, curry night, bingo and games night, as well as a children’s party and live entertainment; further notes the work of the club’s Secretary, Jan Johnson, and the organising team in bringing together a programme that reflects the club’s strong community spirit; and wishes everyone involved in The Forest Club every success for the anniversary celebrations and for many more years of service to the local community.
