Tabled by Richard Alexander (Conservative) 2 signatures

The motion

leave out from 'House' to end and add 'notes that Imperial Tobacco Ltd, having unused advertising sites, agreed to make these available, on repayment, to the Conservative Party's advertising agent Saatchi and Saatchi during the 1992 General Election campaign; notes further that the Conservative Party was, and remains, the only party not committed to ban the advertising of tobacco products, thus ensuring the continued availability of important information to the public about legally manufactured goods; and accepts that this decision by the Conservative Party was reached on the basis of common sense and a desire to preserve freedom of information.'
