The motion
That this House welcomes the third annual Trans+ History Week; notes the week held from 4 to 10 May 2026 will celebrate the millenia-old history and contributions of transgender, non-binary, gender-diverse and intersex people; recognises that the Trans+ community are enduring continued hostility in the UK; further recognises that the Trans+ community deserves to feel safe, respected and included as they move through public life; acknowledges the unique and multiple barriers that Trans+ people, and Trans+ youth in particular, face in accessing timely gender-affirming healthcare, evidence-based; highlights the importance of Trans+ histories being taught in the classroom and Trans+ lives today being celebrated; and further welcomes the continued efforts by Trans+ History Week CIC to restore and protect Trans+ people’s place in our collective human story and ensure that all of us can thrive in a future of dignity, respect and equality.
