Support for the Red Arrows

The motion

That this House recognises the longstanding contribution of the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows, to the promotion of the United Kingdom overseas through public displays, diplomatic engagement and support for defence outreach; notes concerns regarding the planned retirement of traditional display numbering arrangements and the potential effect on public recognition and international visibility; acknowledges the role of the Red Arrows in supporting tourism, aviation education and recruitment across the United Kingdom; further notes the importance of national display teams in projecting soft power and strengthening international partnerships; and calls on the Government to work with the Ministry of Defence and the Royal Air Force to ensure that future display arrangements maintain the global reputation, visibility and public value of the Red Arrows.
