JEFF TORRINGTON'S NOVEL `SWING HAMMER SWING`

That this House congratulates Jeff Torrington, born and bred in the Gorbals, now living in Linwood, Renfrewshire, former Linwood Talbot car worker and author of the ú20.000 prize Whitbread Book of the Year Award, for his first novel 'Swing Hammer Swing'; and notes the international recognition that his success has brought him as a working class writer of great esteem.
