The motion
That this House congratulates St Swithun’s CE Primary School in Oxfordshire on its exemplary and innovative approach to supporting children’s mental health and wellbeing; recognises the school’s commitment to its vision of Nurture, Grow, Flourish and the positive impact this is having across its community; commends its leadership in implementing the My Happy Mind programme, including being one of the longest-standing schools in Oxfordshire to do so and achieving Bronze Accreditation; notes the positive impact on pupils’ engagement and overall wellbeing; applauds the school’s pioneering role as the first in Oxfordshire to implement the OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) programme and its achievement of Platinum status; highlights the importance of embedding wellbeing and play at the heart of education; and calls on the Government to support and learn from such innovative, evidence-based approaches to improving outcomes for children and young people.
